about
Leah Ballantyne is a 13 yr old singer/songwriter from Perth, Western Australia. From the day she first strummed an E minor chord on her old broken neck Yamaha acoustic guitar, at age 10, she started writing her own brand of unique indie folk pop songs.
3 years later she has already written almost 200 complete songs and performed at underage open mic events around Perth.
Now she has upgraded guitars to her beloved Epiphone Hummingbird acoustic guitar and started recording some of her very melodic and engagingly lyrical brand of acoustic music.
Kinda hippy, VW Kombi, tie dye and peace sign friendly, Leah's music has already struck a chord with a significant and diverse audience online.
This track is her first Single Release called 'So Wait'
Do yourself a favour and have a listen. :)
lyrics
trying to keep balance, but you're pulling on my feet
don't know why you're still going
you just won't accept defeat, oh will you?, will you?
i'm tryin' to be better, better for us
but it's never oh it's never enough
every time i step forward, you pull me back
and i'll keep on going 'til the clouds are gone
and i'll keep on going if it all goes wrong
but i'm not ready, going too fast to be steady
so, wait a few minutes, wait a few hours
wait a few years, just don't go right now
i'll hold your hand as tight as i can
but you still manage to slip away
so, wait a few days, wait a few nights
wait for the sun to start to rise
just don't go right now, i need you right now
so stay with me, so stay with me
go to bed early, wake up in the morning
strum the same old songs, tell the same old stories
about how years ago you were happy
now we're here and it's all gone
wake up again, do it all over
meet me in the middle, so we don't lose each other
and maybe if we do, it'll be for the best
and i'll keep on going 'til the clouds are gone
and i'll keep on going if it all goes wrong
but i'm not ready, going too fast to be steady
so, wait a few minutes, wait a few hours
wait a few years, just don't go right now
i'll hold your hand as tight as i can
but you still manage to slip away
so, wait a few days, wait a few nights
wait for the sun to start to rise
just don't go right now, i need you right now
so stay with me
so, wait a few minutes, wait a few hours
wait a few years, just don't go right now
i'll hold your hand as tight as i can
but you still manage to slip away
so, wait a few days, wait a few nights
wait for the sun to start to rise
just don't go right now, i need you right now
so stay with me
